Training and Education


Public Procurement Group (PPG) conducts regular training courses in procurement and related topics to   meet   requirements   of   various   levels   of  procurement   personnel,   financial   managers   and administrators.  The Group has a permanent faculty of its own members, who have wide experience in training in this country as well as abroad.  In addition, it may invite outside eminent speakers to join its faculty.


PPG also collaborates with the International Law Institute (ILI), Washington DC for its training programmes.


The Group organizes seminars and workshops on procurement and related topics like Arbitration and

Dispute Resolution in Contracts, Quality Assurance in Contracts etc.


Programmes in association with Other Organisations:


Most of the training programmes of PPG are conducted at New Delhi.  With a view to have a wide geographical spread for its programmes, the Group as a policy, associates with other professional organisations in the country to run its programmes at other locations.


A five day training course on Public Procurement for junior and middle level officers of the State Governments and Public Sector Undertaking located in Eastern part of India was conducted at Ranchi (Jharkhand) in association with Indian Institute of Coal Management (IICM), from 25th  to 29th  June,



Tailor made Programmes for Other Organizations:


The Group designed and conducted a three day training course on “Effective Contract Management” for executives of the Construction Industry in association with Construction Federation of India (CFI) from 28th to 30th April, 2008 at YWCA, New Delhi.


The  group also  designs  and  conducts  specific  programmes  to  meet  the  requirements  of  a  client organisation.  It has designed and conducted a 10 day programme “Basic Level Training Course in Public Procurement” for the officers of Karnataka Government.  The course design was based on the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement Act and was conducted at the Administrative Training Institute in Mysore, Government of Karnataka from 2th January to 7th February, 2007.


International Programme in Public Procurement


A Training Course in Public Procurement – National and International is organized every year at Delhi in collaboration with International Law Institute, Washington DC, USA.   In this programme delegates from Nepal, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and LAOS have participated besides participants from Government Departments and PSUs.
